We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic people to join our Engineering Team on Hinkley Point C, Somerset. Contributing to delivering a build which will help the UK make a major leap towards reducing carbon emissions and supporting the drive to Net Zero. Once qualified and experienced, this will give you the specialist skillset and opportunities to work on further nuclear projects across the UK.

As a site based apprentice you will:
• Train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country
• Learn about our award-winning approach to working safely
• Work indoors, outdoors and occasionally at height
• Be prepared for early starts and travel away from home when necessary
• Develop great working relationships with some of the industry’s most talented people
• Have a strong support network giving you the chance to build your confidence and skills
  You will learn:
• The installation process for a range of electrical services including wiring systems, lighting, power, fire alarms, emergency lighting & heating controls
• Install, maintain, repair and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation such as control valves, transmitters, switches, sensors and associated piping
• Investigate, diagnose and correct measurement system problems
• Install, tune, and test process controls, instrumentation tubing and instruments
• Work with compressed air systems
• Undertake preventative maintenance inspections
• Calibrate controls and measurement instrumentation to ensure accuracy of readings
• Interpret, evaluate and document calibration test results and maintain records
• Complete all other relevant paperwork and admin
• Perform an emergency role as defined by Emergency Response procedures

You will attend college to complete the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Advanced Apprenticeship. In addition, you will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme.

Grade C/4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language, Maths and a science-based subject, plus 2 other subjects at grade C/4 or above.
