About the role

*UK - Remote*

The Accountant will support the department with maintaining statutory compliance and preparing financial statements for all entities, globally. This ‘hands-on’ candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to respond to questions and special requests from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner. It is essential that the candidate be accountable, detail oriented, and adaptable to ensure deadlines are met timely and with a high degree of accuracy. 

 

What You Will Do

 

In the role as a ‘hands-on’ Accountant you will be preparing detailed reconciliations, schedules, and support and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The main areas captured in the role are noted as follows:

 

  • Supporting group financial statements preparation and consolidation workings for Magnit’s consolidated groups in accordance with US GAAP and International GAAP as applicable.
  • Compiling the extended Trail Balance files bridging US GAAP management accounts to local country statutory financials, for over 50 entities across the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. This includes preparation of reconciliations and tie-outs of those Trial Balances to the final statutory accounts.
  • Work timely with external accounting firms on the preparation of statutory accounts for all entities, in accordance with established deadlines. Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with them in the process.
  • Drafting financial statement footnotes or disclosures as needed for manager review.
  • Keeping engaged with GAAP updates and provide technical input and expertise as required.
  • Supporting the implementation of a new financial statements preparation software solution as required.
  • Drafting policy documentation for review.
  • Providing input and suggestions on process and procedure improvement, driving global consistency.
  • Providing support to the audit function as required , including but not limited to gathering and review of audit support, participating in discussion with auditors, and making recommendations for audit adjustments.
  • Willingly supporting and leading other ad hoc projects as required by senior management.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with financial statements and working towards ACCA/ACA qualification
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP as well as various others preferred
  • Keen problem solver with exceptional attention to detail
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and strong work ethic who has experience of working in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Proficiency in Blackline and familiarity financial statement management tools is preferred but not required.
  • Good communicator who is willing to work across a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, managing multiple engagements in parallel.
