About the role
Within the Finance organization, the Global Fixed Asset Accounting team ensures strategic and accurate accounting management of Magnit’s vast inventory of Fixed assets.
All members of the Finance Organization must possess and leverage a financially analytical aptitude and maintain the highest compliance standards while supporting internal partners and external clients and providing team support to a growing, global organization.
Under the direction of the VP, Taxation & Compliance; the selected candidate will proactively lead and manage all aspects of the company’s worldwide capital expenditure. The primary duty of this position is to oversee and ensure department functions run smoothly, including strategic relationship building with the company’s internal teams, ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly, drive department goals, and help produce strategic decisions in line with business growth and the continued evolving landscape that is continually seen within accounting and capital asset management/controls.
What You Will Do
- Grow and maintain an effective Global Fixed Assets team through regular and measurable assessment. Continue to build team in respective regions as necessary.
- Manage global fixed asset life cycle including additions, disposals, depreciation and internal software development capitalization.
- Collaborate with the management team to support the development and implementation of Fixed Asset controls/processes designed to accommodate the business’ objectives.
- Regularly review, audit, and adjust internal controls to ensure that a superior quality service is delivered with world-class integrity and compliance.
- Ensure and foster cross functional collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Finance/Accounting, Technology, InfoSec, and others).
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert & point of escalation for the department and for internal teams on Fixed Asset related matters
- Drive productivity and efficiency through process improvement and technology solutions while improving leadership transparency and controls.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency of systems and programs utilized (including Peoplesoft).
- Manage company & departmental initiatives.
- Create effective development plans for direct/indirect reports, ensuring retention and productivity.
- Lead or Assist with hiring, separation, and employee improvement plans.
- Provide direct training and an overall training plan for new hires, transfers and new promotions within the department.
- Direct workflow of team diversified over US, EMEA, and/or APAC and department processes including monitoring individual workloads and establishing priorities to effectively and efficiently meet timelines/deadlines while ensuring accuracy.
- Hands-on and willing/able to navigate / manage processes at a detailed level while also able to summarize key issues and manage at a conceptual level
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or related field of study.
- CPA qualification or ambitions preferred.
- 3-5 years Experience working in a related role, ideally with exposure to software capitalization.
- Experience leading/managing a team, individuals in a multi-faceted organization.
- Experience working with or managing remote teams, especially in India.
- Experience with a fixed asset management solution (such as BNA Fixed Assets, etc)
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate complex ideas with all levels of management and staff.
- Effective business partnership skills, with ability to interact professionally with external/ internal partners.
- Displays strong initiative, consistently generates and drives ideas while delivering results for ad hoc assignments and departmental projects/initiatives.
- Ability to independently manage a solution/process
- Strong MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Web-based resources. Strong Excel skills and a technical aptitude.
- Strong data analysis skills with ability to generate logical conclusion.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to independently manage time to meet multiple deadlines as well as multi-task, balance workload and problem solve.
Salary Range is between $100,000 to $115,000 annually based on experience and location.
